First Take Friday #115 Lake Pontchartrain Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune This song was intended to be the story of how Big Bad Jim, from the Adventures of Cowboy Dan, was turned into a vampire, but I ran out of time, and I sang 1959 instead of 1759. Nothing a little editing can't solve. So, Welcome to the Adventures of Cowboy Dan: Big Bad Jim. This is the first in a five episode set of songs telling a little more in-depth story of how Big Bad Jim became a vampire. He was a traveling man and he moved all over the place as a younger fellow. Landing in the area of New Orleans where he was turned, but that part of the story is yet to come. Thanks for checking it out. Cheers! JB

New Song! - Robot Repair
This song was first conceived around Christmas 2020. I blasted out the first minute one afternoon while playing around with my keyboard. I wrote the majority of this tune within a two week period, but then spent months tweaking it here and there, little by little. The original concept came from a day dream ~~~~~~~~~ I had to send a package out for an electronic repair. As I was looking up the procedural stuff for shipping, I wondered if a human would repair my equipment....or would it be a robot? That spawned the song. I first saved the song as "Robot Dance Project #4" because I knew I wanted it to be a dance tune, but then I wanted one robot to be the lead character, which is the repeated motive. That voice was to be Robot #4, a 4th Edition dance robot built to entertain the repair robots. Somewhere along the line, it turned into an entire group of repair robots having a conversation while repairing robots. The music video will be sweet, so stay tuned for that. Available at all online music retailers. First Take Friday #105 Pandemonium Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: This tune is a bit avant garde. It is my interpretation of the angst that I have felt over the past year or so. I was having a hard time capturing the chaos of the world with lyrics, so I pulled out the bass and polished up the drum kit to create a truly unique First Take Friday. This one is straight out of the deep recesses of my personal music history library. In college, I studied composition and I thoroughly enjoyed creating darker pieces. Hope you enjoy this too. Thank you for checking it out, JB New Song! Mellow. Perfect for a warm-up before you move on with your grove to more advanced dance moves. Available at all online music retailers.
First Take Friday #104 Gloria Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: This is my little take on the sacred text, which translated to English is: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For You alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Thank you and Happy Christmas. In a year of totally strange occurrences, even when celebrating in a distanced way, I hoped to share with you the reason for the celebration. I missed some of the lyrics, but the bass added a good bit of earthly tones....I hope. JB First Take Friday #103 Jesu Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I intended to write a song that told the story of Christmas. Unfortunately, the day job left very little time to write/re-write and practice this week, so I had to pull it together pretty quickly this week. I think it is a good start though. More to come. Merry Christmas, JB First Take Friday #102 Willie the Elf Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I wrote this song about that little 6" elf that breaks into our home around Christmas. We affectionately call him Willie the Elf. He really likes to stay in the same place for a day or two, taking in all the action, I guess. Likely conspiring with the animals to conquer the universe and take over for Santa, but who really knows right? Just kidding - he's just a lazy little elf. Merry Christmas and hang in there, JB First Take Friday #101 Christmas Party Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: Who doesn't love a Christmas Party? Eggnog, White Elephant Gifts, Sleeping with the Reindeer in the Barn. This tune is written from the perspective of Father Christmas. He and Mrs. Claus are hosting a Christmas Party. Mrs. Claus makes a mean cookie, and Mr. Claus makes a mean Eggnog, so bring the sleigh but don't drive it home. Merry Christmas! JB First Take Friday - Episode #100 I do it for the HOs! Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I wrote parts of this song back in 2019, but finished it up today. It is simply an expression of Joy from the one and only St. Nick! A play on words. A play on Christmas. Despite the dismal news and gloom, I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving. Remember to enjoy the reason for the season. Spreading Joy for all to hear. Merry Christmas!
