First Take Friday - Episode #30 Remember me in Heaven Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I had four or five different ideas for a song this week, which usually doesn’t happen. Most weeks, I have a song in my head as soon as I pick up the guitar to write a song, but that wasn’t the case this week. I had a lot of ideas to sift through, which will be good for the coming weeks. Anyway, this one is a love song. I’ve been looking into life insurance so I’ve been thinking a bit about death. A good thing for the people I love - a weird thing for a living breathing human. Actually, I choked up a bit when I wrote the line “Will you remember me in heaven?” I love my family and friends so much; I miss them now that I don’t see them all the time. The ones we’ve already lost, I miss as well. I will see them again, but not yet. That said, I do not fear death because of my faith. Shopping for life insurance helps me to remember to live each day to the fullest. Please do the same. One love. Peace.

First Take Friday - Episode 29 DANGER Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I wrote this song about my wife. All of my married friends would say, “When you know, you know”. Since I didn’t know, I had no clue what they were talking about. In fact, I thought they were full of bologna. But when I met my wife I knew. I knew she was trouble - Trouble, with a capital “T”. I knew my life had just been flipped upside down. For the better of course! Seriously, I knew my new life, life with my wife, had just begun. Tick. Tick. Tick. BOOOOOOOM! Dynamite. I wish I had a bit more time to arrange this one, but life comes at you fast. I have already made some interesting edits to this, like adding more of a bridge. You’ll just have to see me play it live sometime, or perhaps I’ll include it on a studio album. First Take Friday - Episode #28 Pink Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I spent some time with a NASA astronaut and a former US President this week. After talking to the astronaut about the atmosphere and the president about politics, I wrote this song. I saw an amazing sunrise over New York City, which really inspired me. Pink clouds. The sun rises and sets. What we do with the time in between is what separates us from each other, but oddly we are all in this floating island in the middle of vast darkness together. Thank you for spending some of your time watching this video. The Album version of this song is going to be sick. Lots of horns! First Take Friday - Episode #27 That Feeling Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I’ve been working on this song for a few weeks now. I finished it this morning. I only had the chorus for a long time, but I knew the message the second I wrote the chorus. Do you ever get that feeling that someone is thinking about you? I’m not sure why else I call friends and they say, “I was just thinking about you” or I say that to them. It happens to me all the time. I want all my family and friends to know that I’m thinking about you regularly. Spreading love to the world and sharing the vibrations around the world is really what this song is about. I know I get that feeling! |
