First Take Friday - Episode #43 Dance the Night Away Written by Jonathan Brader Tale of the Tune: I wrote this song back in 2003 about a girl that I met at a wedding. We danced like crazy. All night long. All night. All night. It was a lot of fun. The funny thing about this song is that I haven’t played it in years. A few weeks ago I was playing a show in Kentucky with my buddy Tony. Tony and I have been playing together for years and years. He is the reason I play the guitar at all today because he had a steady gig at the Holts Summit Winery (now the Canterbury Hill Winery) that he invited me to join him on. It was amazing! Thanks, T! Anyway, Tony's cousin, John, told me that he likes this song a lot. I hadn’t thought of or played this song in so long, I couldn’t remember all the verses, but I played as much as I could recall at the time and then forgot about it. Last night, I practiced this tune and it reminded me of the reason for writing it, but it also reminds me of my wife. We danced all night at out wedding. Well, I did. She did a lot of talking to our guests (sorry guys). I was having a grand old time with everybody who was dancing! Don't you just love music? I do! Especially when you hear a song and it reminds you of a specific time & place in your life (or multiple times and places). It is truly amazing! Peace and love, JB
